Going Aeronautical Mobile on Saturday
A good friend invited my son and me for a flight in a Cessna 172 on Saturday.
My 11-year-old has taken an interest in aviation. He’ll get the opportunity to sit behind the controls, log hours under instruction, and mark off requirements for the Aviation merit badge.
We’ll be up for about 2 hours, so there will be plenty of time to enjoy the adventure.
I have permission to take my HT with me to make “aeronautical mobile” contacts on amateur radio. (After I take photos of my son flying an airplane!)
Our flight leaves Bolingbrook’s Clow International Airport about 4 PM Central Time.
If the weather is no good, we’ll scrub. Visual Rules apply.
I’ll call for stations on 223.5 MHz once we’re in the air.
If time permits, I will call on 52.525 MHz, 446.0 MHz, and 146.52 MHz.
Hope to work you.
